Q: What does the upper blepharoplasty do?
A: Lifts drooping eyelids to make eyes look fresh, alert and bright.
Q; How is the procedure done?
A: An incision is made into the natural crease in the eyelid. Excess skin is trimmed. The incisions are covered with steri-strips and an ice pack put over the eyes.
Q: How does it feel after the blepharoplasty surgery?
A: You may feel sore and uncomfortable. Your eyes may feel gritty, dry and tearful.
Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: The procedure will take in about an hour.
Q: Will there be swelling and bruising?
A: Yes, usually lasting for about ten days.
Q: What is the recovery for the upper blepharoplasty?
A: Stitches are removed after about four days. You may take 2-4 days off from work. If you usually wear contact lenses you may need to wear glasses for a week following surgery.
Q: Are there any side effects?
A: Temporary side effects can include dry sore eyes, increased tear production, problems closing the eyelid. Other rare complications are those common to all surgery.
Q: When will I see results?
A: You will see the result in about 2 weeks post surgery.
