Breast augmentation with implants is an effective way to increase the size of one’s breasts. It is considered as one of the most sought aesthetic procedures all over the world.
How will I know which breast implant size is suitable?
The breast implant size will be based on the outcome you want to achieve. Recently, more women are deciding to have natural-looking breasts.

Where are the implants placed?
The implants are either placed between the breast tissues and the muscles (subglandular) or below the muscles (submuscular).
Where will the incisions be?
The incisions will be placed on the natural crease of the skin, which is the fold under the breasts. The incisions will be around 4cm long. The incisions will flatten in a few months and will be less conspicuous.
How is the surgery done?
Breast augmentation is done under local anaesthesia with sedation. During sedation, you will be asleep and will not be able to remember the operation. The whole procedure will take around 1.5 to 2 hours.
What happens after the surgery?
You will be expected to remain 2-4 hours after the surgery. This may be longer depending on how fast you recover.
There will be a dressing as well as an adhesive bandage around the breasts which will be left in place for 4-5 days.
Once this adhesive tape is removed, a regular non-wired cotton bra is recommended and will be worn for a month.
When can I go back to my daily activities?
As with all surgeries, resting for the first couple of days is advised. It is for your own safety to have someone assist you for the first 2 days. Driving is also not allowed during these 2 days because of the sedative medications.
